Speaker of the House Responds to London Center’s Call for Action

Washington, DC – Today, Speaker of the House John Boehner, announced the formation of a special investigative committee to investigate the terrorist attacks against our consulate on 11 September 2012, which resulted in the death of a sitting U.S. Ambassador, and three other American officials.

The London Center has been at the forefront of the effort to bring accountability and closure to the Benghazi failure since the Center’s inception; our steadfast and continuous work on the issue has borne fruit and we now intend to continue to work with Congress to conduct a proper and detailed investigation of not only the White House deception, but also how to fix the massive policy blunder that has resulted in the destabilization of both Libya and our close ally Egypt.

Through a combination of behind the scenes investigations, and open and closed meetings with Congressional leadership and public media pressure by London Center senior fellows, we have been effective in moving the Benghazi policy failures, and the preventable deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glenn Doherty and Tyrone Woods one step closer.  Here are two key national interviews on Fox News that had direct impact on Congressional leadership:

We are proud of our work and intend to continue to press for justice, accountability and to fix the problems created by the White House’s failed policy – so that the families of the victims of the 9/11/12 terrorist attacks are given closure, and the American people are given the answers they deserve.
